Movie-Inspired Meals

I have started a new 30 Day Challenge. For the next 30 days I will be focusing on cooking homemade meals that are specifically inspired by food and drinks featured in iconic scenes from movies.

I have been looking forward to this challenge for a while with the hope that it will build up my culinary skills and add some creativity to my typical meals.  I will update throughout the month with some of my favorite recipes.

Here are some of the dishes/movies I plan to recreate over the next month:

  • Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake from Matilda
  • White Russian from The Big Lebowski
  • Shrimp Linguine from Something’s Gotta Give
  • Orange Chicken and Rice from The Hunger Games
  • Croque Monsieur from It’s Complicated
  • Lobster, Corn and Potatoes from Annie Hall
  • Spaghetti and Meatballs from Lady and the Tramp
  • Egg and Bacon Rice Bowl from Mulan
  • Ratatouille from Ratatouille
  • Mermaid Marshmallow Pie from Waitress
  • Grilled Cheese from Chef
  • Dragon Carrot Risotto from The Fault in Our Stars
  • French Toast from Kramer vs. Kramer
  • Beef Bourginon from Julie and Julia
