This new month welcomes a new 30 day challenge. For the month of November, I am going to focus on 30 Days of Gratitude. Every November, I see my friends participate in similar challenges (usually filling Facebook or Instagram with lovely photos of people and things that make them feel happy and fulfilled) and it has always interested me, but this is the first time I am actually participating in a version of the Gratitude Challenge…
As someone who is wildly non-religious, spending a month highlighting my gratitude feels a little out of my comfort zone. Admittedly, you probably aren’t going to see words like praise, faith, or Him coming from me (I also want to be clear, that I have no inherent qualms with people who are fueled by a higher power but I am not and to say that I am would be highly disingenuous). But, I believe that anyone and everyone can take time to recognize what in their life makes them grateful, and that is what I will be focusing on.
In my preparation for this challenge, I stumbled across an interesting page from the Happier Human that spells out 31 Surprising Benefits of Gratitude. I hope this month is filled with personal growth and a little more reflection. Thanks for reading. (see what I did there?)
